Principles of effective marketing

I talked about Peter Drucker and Guy Kawasaki in my post about the 1-page plan. Even though I’m a technologist and programmer, most of my activities fall under the marketing umbrella, and influencing people. This brings me my next major influence, Robert B. Cialdini and the psychology of persuasion. I’m not going to make a big post about this, and like the previous post on the 10 marketing pitfalls, I’m mostly just posting it here for my own future reference. Effective marketing almost always uses one or more of these principles of effective marketing. I keep them in mind even in Web development and programming.
