iPhone will succeed for the reason Advertising Age states

Advertising Age got it right as to why the iPhone will succeed despite all the Apple-fearing know-nothing naysayers. The iPhone will suck for many valid reasons, just as the 128K Mac did in it’s day, the colorless, overpriced Apple II did in it’s day (if you believe the revisionists), and the Johnny-come-lately iPod did (Rio was first).
When due to competition, all innovation becomes a commodity, then all that’s left is style. And with the world market for snobbish, stylish devices, the iPhone is a sure thing. Yep, version 1 may suck, but wait until version 2, version 3 and version 4. The creativity-lacking followers are going to spend half their time guessing what Apple’s up to next, and the other half their time critically hacking at Steve’s ankles, trying to take him down.
That’s what little people do.
