This aligns well with creating the kind of in-depth, helpful content Google favors, and it taps into conversational queries common in voice and AI search [44, 54].
2. Adapt for AI Overviews: The rise of Google’s AI Overviews (formerly SGE) changes the game [52]. These AI-generated summaries can answer queries directly on the SERP, potentially reducing clicks, especially for informational long-tail searches [55, 56, 61]. Studies show potential traffic declines in certain sectors [55, 62]. The strategy now involves optimizing content to be featured in these snippets – clear answers, structured data, established topical authority [52, 64, 65].
